Smog Swatch 2020

Atmospheric pollutants are colour dropped from press photography, captured during extreme levels of smog that suffocate major cities around the world. 10 photographs from locations in Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Nepal, Australia and India were extracted to form a colour swatch chart, similar to the ones we see in paint and DIY shops. Whilst collecting air pollution data, the artist has studied a plethora of photographs and live webcam feeds from air pollution hot spots. These colours form their own abstract data patterns.
